Macaulay Land Use Research Institute
The Macaulay Land Use Research Institute (MLURI) undertakes research on rural land use and sustainable resource management and has expertise in socioeconomics, land use systems, rural sustainability and climate change. Its work is funded by the Scottish Government and other competitive funding sources. The Institute has a long history of coordinating multidisciplinary research projects, including projects funded in previous EU Framework Programmes and has the infrastructure for this role. MLURI staff work in Africa, Asia and Latin America, as well as Europe.
In REDD-ALERT, MLURI will co-ordinate and lead the scientific management of the project, and will also lead work on Integration and Modelling, and will contribute socioeconomic and modelling expertise.
