CIATCentro Internacional de Agricultura Tropical (CIAT) is a not-for-profit organization that conducts socially and environmentally progressive research aimed at reducing hunger and poverty and preserving natural resources in developing countries. CIAT is one of the 15 centers that make up the Consultative Group on International Agricultural Research (CGIAR).

Within REDD-ALERT, CIAT will be mainly involved in providing spatial analysis and modelling experience and will also contribute economics expertise to the analysis of drivers of land use change and carbon stock accounting, and assist with testing stakeholder views to REDD policy options.
